So the upgrade is complete, and here we are. Better than ever? Use the new polling feature to let us know what you think. Be sure to also check out the other new features like the events calendar. Explore. Have fun. :) If you would like to contribute a theme/design for these forums, please contact us; we will be happy to have your input and help! There will be many broken links and probably posts that should be relocated to other forums/categories based on their subject matter. Please help us identify issues by using the the Report to moderator link on the bottom corner of every post. Thanks for your help.If you have questions, post in the Forum Support thread or email forum@antiochians.org

It would be nice to have the links back - to antiochians.org, recordonline, wiki, etc. Thanks.

Okay, edited/changed the theme to include those links. Please note that you can change your theme by going to your Profile (tab at the top) and select Look and Layout Preferences (under Modify Profile on the left) and change Current Theme.

What was wrong with the old forums.
This just adds confusion and all kinds of information is lost.
Why Why Why? What were you thinking?

Perhaps some of the more technically adept webteam members might be able to offer a better explanation, but as I remember, the big appeal of this system was its stability and some of its features relative to overall site-integration. You may recall that the mailbridges that connected some of the forum categories with specific mailing lists kept breaking. We stand a better chance of performing repairs that are long-lasting in this newer format
nothing was lost. I repeat, nothing was lost. In fact, great pains were taken to preserve all posts. What did change, however, was the site's structure. Some seemingly redundant or overlapping categories were combined. This was done in the interest of facilitating communication, so that folks posting were reaching the right audience.
Nothing is permanent, of course, and we're very much interested in specific feedback that you may have that might help us to improve the forums. We know that change is hard and upsetting, but in the words of one Antioch president, "At Antioch, change is the only constant." As in YS, so on the web...

I am not big on emmodicons (sp?) and I am battling my resistance of "the New", so none of the responses fit in the polling YET. I do think the font is too small, and I don't have SUCH old eyes. any chance of bumping it up a tad? Is there a place to learn what all of the above means? Dennie

hi Dennie, i increased the font size a bit, hopefully it's more readable. if you don't see any change, hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click your browser's reload button. this should make sure that you're seeing the latest style changes. Is there a place to learn what all of the above means?
all the icons on the posting screen will give you a "tooltip" if you hover your mouse over the icon/button/emoticon and wait a second (or more/less depending on what browser you're using). also the "Help" tab at the top of the page is very thoroughly documented and has a "posting" section which will give even more detail. hope that helps a bit. thanks for the feedback.

I went to change my theme and as a result, lost the links to antiochians.org, record, etc. Are those links only available on default format. I was interested int eh Outline/red format.
Also, what am I doing wrong that requires me to login every visit?

howdy
i've just installed and am beginning to mod a new alternative theme.
it's called Outline and it's simply delicious.
i'll get the other the other custom elements into it soonishly (rss buttons and antiochians.org menubar etc) but will always make the default theme the priority.
i will maintain these two custom themes (OverViewLight and Outline) side-by-side and ensure they're kept up to date with our site's growth. the stock themes (babylon, core, etc) will not be updated as often by me.

In case folks hadn't noticed, these forums are now hosted at the forum.saveantioch.org domain. Many links in posts still point back to antiochians.org/forum but i'll try to make it so they map to the new domain so they'll still work. Here's hoping these get used again some day. -Matt
