digging the feed feature.  however, i wonder if maybe it shouldn't be excluded from the results of clicking "Show unread posts since last visit." at the top of pages.  pretty much jams the page with fed material as far as i can tell...

Well I think this may have been a one time event as Erik fired up the feeds and it imported from them all. Future jams wll only come if a site being monitored posts a chunk of content at once.

BTW Erik -Which sites are 'fed'? the AB site (www), Antiochpapers, Record ... any others? I'd suggest Listen, Faculty (when/if they give me content to update it), Chapters, maybe even antiochflashpoint if they are ok with us evil and tainted alumni watching them Smiley

matt is correct. the next time there's new content it won't be so much. dates will also be mostly correct (30 mins give or take).

the way i have it set is that every 30 mins it checks the listed sites and pulls down only 1 new item (we can change this to be more but am keeping it sane for the initial phase) from each site if there is new content.

currently fed are antiochians.org, record, antiochpapers, antiochfaculty, saveantioch, and alumni-chat  i (or we) can add the others by going to: Admin -> Feed Poster Configuration

but let's not add a bunch yet since i'm fixing a lot of bad code at the moment with the script i've cannibalized.

also, on the old forum site, the mailbridged forums showed up in the 'unread' posts link and i think it went over fine... but that just my opinion.

edited - 11/28: i am still tweaking it. seeing that 1 post per run isn't right. during testing it might barf all over the 'unread' list. sorry. it'll be better once the kinks are hammered out.
