I thought there was a bridge to saveantioch on here.... what gives? I am SO ticked, I thought nobody was talking! Apparently I am on every mailing list BUT that one. And I used to be on that one!

Where is access (a bridge?) to:
http://lists.antiochians.org/pipermail/saveantioch_lists.antiochians.org/2008-June/date.html#start
As that is where all current discussion is happening?
It certainly isn't happening here on the antiochians.org/forum.
And many have gone away, not knowing how to get to the list.
I think that is what catbird girl was trying to say.
If someone hadn't responded to her with the link, I wouldn't have found it.
How many other people coming to the forum looking for info have decided that everyone has
quietly given up?
Is it possible to link it to this forum, and is it possible to make both accessible from the antiochians.org
home page?
Thanks.

There are a lot of private chat lists going on, and I understand the reason for private conversation. However there are a few things I don't understand. One is why the forum section of antiochians.org is so hidden from the home page, you have to go to "resources" then find forums down the list. Second is why people are satisfied with conversations on the lists. One can not delve deeply into a topic since we know every post is emailed to dozens of people who may not care about the particular topic you're discussing. Couldn't sections of forums be maintained to be private or "invitation only" to protect from university interlopers?

Are people happy with the process of communication and organization? Am I just seeming to be taking potshots at the people working very hard to keep our College in operation? I really don't mean this at all.

Please see the posting under forums:
"Access to lists.antiochians.org via this site"

You've lost your readers here, and they can't find where the discussion is happening.
The problem is in that post.

all -- i've merged all these topics into one since they are the same.

there has been a link on the upper right hand corner of this forum pointing to the mailing lists forever (if you are using the default, OverViewLight - semi-fluid, or Outline themes).

people chose to never really migrate from the mailing lists to the forums. the mailing lists are where most discussion is happening (and there is a lot of it).

the mailing list bridges which existed on the old forum software blew up the old forum software and were a huge security risk therefore we moved to this new forum software long long long ago. mailing list bridges were being worked on and were nearly completed but the tireless bitching and complaining about the new forum and how disliked it was made it clear to me that it wasn't worth the (free/thankless/tireless/tedious) effort.

the mailing lists have not been bridged to this forum for over six months. there's even been a red (disabled) tag sitting next to that forum (for over six months now).

if you are just realizing this now......

i highly suggest you follow the mailing lists link on the upper right hand corner of this window and join the SaveAntioch list. you can also join local chapter lists there too.

i also suggest that if you're interested, to head on over to http://saveantioch.org and join the ACAN list.

these forums exist and will continue to but if folks don't want to use them then there's really nothing we can do.

regarding the content on the main antiochians.org site: that site's content is maintained by AB member michael heffernan, so any issues with its menues etc should be taken up with him/the AB.

see you on the lists.

TY Erik - somehow I never noted the bar above with all the navigation. TY for everything you did!
